About Lutheran Summer Music Academy

Lutheran Summer Music Academy is a 4-week program hosted at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.  It is focused on three main areas:  Music. Community. Faith.  Students participate in daily large ensemble rehearsals plus smaller elective classes.  They receive 2 private lessons per week and can join in on multiple "extra-curricular" activities focused on music, faith and fun.  If you want to know more about it, click HERE to visit the website, or HERE to see a great introductory video:

About Everest

Everest is 17 and has been playing bassoon for 7 years.  LSM feels like a real home to them.  Each year Everest has attended LSM, they have come away with deepened musical knowledge, wonderful friendships where they feel "seen", and a greater maturity in their faith.  They have soaked up all the musical opportunities by playing in the band, singing in the choir, and writing their own compositions.  It means a lot to Everest to have your support!

Where the money will go:

Tuition for Lutheran Summer Music Academy is $2695 per camper for 4 weeks, which includes room and board.  LSMA offers a $500 match to students who raise $1000 toward their tuition.  Your donation to Everest's tuition account will earn a 50% match until that goal is met.

Travel to and from Northfield, Minnesota will cost $700, including airfare and the airport shuttle.  To donate directly to Everest's travel, or if you don't want to give online, you can either mail a check made out to Ann Benson c/o St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 316 E 24th Ave., Spokane, WA 99223 OR you can venmo Ann - @annbenson-14.
